Jesy Nelson shows off natural curls in make-up free selfie

JESY Nelson showed off her natural curls yesterday as she shared a rare make-up free selfie.

The 31-year-old ditched her wigs while on a long car journey – telling followers she had been travelling for six hours.

Fans are used to seeing Jesy dolled up to the nines with heavy make-up and new hairstyles almost every day.

The former Little Mix singer started to embrace her real hair earlier this year, revealing: “Natural hair is finally healthy again.”

Last year Jesy was forced to defend herself after she was accused of “blackfishing” in her debut solo music video.

She later insisted: “My intention was never to offend people of colour with this video and my song.

“I just want to touch on the whole tanning thing as well, when I was in the video with you [Nicki], I didn’t have fake tan on. I’d been in Antigua prior to that for three weeks.

“I’m really lucky as a white girl I tan so much. Leigh-Anne even said to me in the group: ‘Are you sure you’re not mixed race because you go darker than me in the sun!’

“My hair is naturally curly, I got it from my dad – I wanted to get a wig that emulated the same texture as my hair and I genuinely didn’t think I was doing anything wrong.”

Meanwhile, Jesy looks set to bring out her own beauty range after being encouraged by pals.

A source said: “Jesy is totally focused on her music at the moment but when that project is finalised people have bandied around the idea of her dipping her toe into the cosmetics market.

“She and her pals have seen the success of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Iman’s cosmetics line and some of those close to her think she could do well by emulating that.

“Jesy’s new music is all about feeling cool and confident, and in the future she could diversify her brand in a way that lets her do that with hair and make-up.

“It is not something in the pipeline currently but Jesy is known for her love of glamorous make-up and there is a market there for her if she chooses to go down that route.”
