Fearing loss of power, Microsoft, Amazon will not expand in Ireland

DUBLIN, Ireland: A 2 billion euro expansion of data centers in Ireland has been postponed over concerns about being able to receive adequate power.

The Times has reported that both Microsoft and Amazon have ended plans to expand their data centers in Ireland. This follows Irish officials placing a moratorium on new connections by Ireland's state-owned electric utility EirGrid.
