The tournament kick-starts at Flushing Meadows on August 29 as the biggest stars in tennis gather in New York for the final grand slam of the year.

But Djokovic WILL miss out.

And that’s because he’s currently unable to travel to the US this year due to his vaccination status.

The 35-year-old has won this competition three times, in 2011, 2015 and most recently in 2018 when beating Juan Martin del Potro in the final.

But Djokovic has not been vaccinated against Covid-19, which is the current requirement for foreign travellers entering the US.

The player recently reaffirmed that he won’t be getting vaccinated in order to enter the United States and confirmed on social media that he’d miss the showpiece event.

He wrote: “Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open. Thank you #NoleFam for your messages of love and support.

“Good luck to my fellow players! I’ll keep in good shape and positive spirit and wait for an opportunity to compete again.

“See you soon tennis world!”

Reigning US Open champion Daniil Medvedev is available at 9/5.

The Russian is currently world number one, and looks to have hit form at the perfect time after winning his first ATP title of 2022 at the Los Cabos Open in Mexico.

Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal are priced at 5/1 and 7/2 respectively, ahead of Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios at 13/2.

A British win looks unlikely with Cam Norrie (40/1) and Andy Murray (150/1 at big odds.
