1952 Mickey Mantle baseball card sells for record $12.6 million

DALLAS, Texas: In the lucrative sports memorabilia market, a mint condition Mickey Mantle baseball card sold for $12.6 million this week, entering the record books as the largest amount ever paid for sports memorabilia.

The previous record, posted just a few months ago, was $9.3 million for the jersey worn by Diego Maradona during the game he scored the contentious "Hand of God" goal in the 1986 World Cup.
