WHEN you’re getting a tattoo, you want to be 100 percent sure that the artist understands your vision.
A TikToker had an unfortunate experience when getting a neck tattoo that led to her crying for hours.
TikTok user Maya, known to her followers as Alien Jarz, shared a series of videos showing her neck tattoo, which looks like a child’s drawing.
For her tattoo, Maya had requested a red tied string around her neck but the result was not what she had envisioned.
In the first video of her neck tattoo journey, the TikToker said: “It turned out so bad. I literally just stopped crying, probably not going to show it right now because I feel hella sensitive about it.”
She added: “I can’t believe I just got a neck tattoo that I hate. FML.”
In the next clip, Maya clarified that she was not shading the tattoo artist who gave her the neck art.
She explained: “I really meant no hate to the artist. This is the tattoo, it’s just not what I wanted. I will be thickening up the lines and hopefully it will be something I love.”
In her third video, Maya shared more detail on the tattoo artist’s limited experience.
“A fun little tidbit: the person that did this, it was actually their sixth tattoo they’d ever done. For the life of me I cannot understand why they agreed to do it,” she told her viewers.

She added: “I also cannot understand why they marketed themselves as a tattoo artist because I feel like after that many tattoos you’re not a tattoo artist.”
“I myself have done that many tattoos, like I’ve literally tattooed myself and other people way more than that. And I do not call myself a tattoo artist – I just own a tattoo machine,” Maya said.
While Maya was able to get her tattoo fixed by her friend’s boyfriend, TikTok users took to the comments section of her videos to share their thoughts on the original look.
“I really like the idea of this tattoo. I love the placement but yah, I see what you are saying. Thicker lines will make all the difference,” one user said.
