MAFS UK fans slam show and claim one contestant is being ‘humiliated for ratings’
MARRIED At First Sight UK fans have hit out at the show after fearing that one contestant is being ‘humiliated for ratings’.
Viewers of the E4 reality series are concerned that recruitment HR coordinator Duka should have not been made to marry Whitney.
The couple’s cringeworthy wedding was aired in the series launch episode on Monday night, with Whitney earning herself the title of “the new villain”.
The PA from St Albans turned her nose up at Duka when she saw him for the first time, compared him to a shed and then mocked his name.
Fans are worried for Duka now he has married Whitney, with many telling him to “run”.
One tweeted: “I know it’s entertainment, so I hope #Duka was in on it, because this public humiliation for ratings isn’t a good look.”

Another agreed: “Duka and Whitney’s wedding should have been stopped with her a******* carry on…but then the producers know her rude s*** will pull in the ratings. God help Duka.”
And a third wrote: “#MAFSUK Whitney has huge issues and picked for viewing ratings… poor lad! Duka needs to run and she needs a lesson on how to behave!”
Prior to walking up the aisle, Whitney had told cameras that people often think she is “cold”, “rude” and a “b****”.
She then fell out with fellow bride Jess after the dental nurse said she would sleep with her husband on their wedding night.

Whitney only revealed her vulnerable side when she spoke about her mother’s tragic death.
As the scenes played out, fans branded Whitney “disrespectful” and compared her to Nikita Jasmine, who was axed from last year’s MAFS UK following an off-screen incident.
Duka’s father was unimpressed by her behaviour at the wedding and tried to warn his son, who batted away his concerns.
However, Duka has since hit out at his ‘wife’ and shared a photo of himself on his wedding day on social media, captioning it: “Always keep it classy.”
He posted another snap with his dad and wrote: “Family over everything!”

Meanwhile, Whitney’s behaviour towards Duka was deemed so awful by another contestants’ mum that she felt the need to go on an expletive-filled rant.
There are 30 episodes of MAFS UK this series. The show airs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
