Susanna Reid says she ‘loved every minute’ of working with Bill Turnbull after his death from prostate cancer
TV presenter Susanna Reid says she “loved every minute” of working with former colleague Bill Turnbull, who has died of prostate cancer.
In a tribute on BBC Breakfast yesterday, Susanna, 51, told how Bill, 66, had a “mischievous sense of humour”.
She said: “Some little quirk would happen and you’d see Bill start to laugh, and you knew that if Bill started to laugh you were not going to be able to hold it together.
“Some of my fondest moments of working with Bill were just giggling uncontrollably.”
The GMB host presented BBC Breakfast with Bill — who she said was “incredibly generous” — from 2012 to 2014.
Classic FM, where he had worked since 2016, will broadcast a special tribute programme for him today from 10am to 1pm, in his show’s usual time slot.

The show will be interspersed with tributes from other broadcasters who knew Turnbull best, as well as messages from his fellow Classic FM presenters and his many listeners.
Classic FM also hopes to continue his legacy by using the show to raise further awareness of prostate cancer and encourage more men to get themselves checked.
