Vicky Bowman, the former British Ambassador to Myanmar, was arrested and sentenced to one year in prison along with her husband for allegedly violating immigration laws. Experts believe that Bowman’s arrest is the Burmese military’s response to the sanctions London imposed on them earlier this year.
