My son’s asked to move back home saying he can’t sleep because of his newborn but I’m stunned & my husband is fuming
ANY parent will know the struggle of having a newborn that just won’t sleep through the night.
One man has come up with a solution to this problem, one that has shocked his parents and left his family divided that is.
Taking to Mumsnet, a grandma has posted that her son’s asked to move back home during the week so he can get a good night’s sleep.
She writes: “DS [darling son] 27 and his gf [girlfriend] recently had a baby. As you’d expect they are being woken up during the night.
“DS has asked if he can move back in mon – fri so he can get a proper night’s sleep so he can concentrate on going to work and do his job effectively.
“DH [darling husband] thinks the idea is outrageous and he should just ‘get on with it’ , I feel a bit confused as to why he is even asking.”

She then says that while she doesn’t want to be unsupportive, she isn’t particularly enamoured with the idea, asking: “Surely other new parents don’t do this?”
Commenters on the thread were shocked at the new father’s audacity to ask such a thing, and were confused as to why he expected his parents, and girlfriend, to agree to this.
One commenter wrote: “If you do that I can imagine your DIL would be rather miffed – if you value a relationship with her / your grandchild, I’d be telling him to sling his hook and grow up!
“Don’t even entertain him. He shouldn’t be leaving his partner at home alone with a new baby to go and sleep at his parents house, that’s shameful.”

“You say no for the sake of his girlfriend’s well-being. You could also sit him down and explain this is what everyone else with kids goes through”, suggested another.
A third added: “I’d respond that if he abandons his partner with a newborn, it’s likely to end his relationship. So, no.”
