Radford fire near Big Bear grows to 450 acres overnight
The Radford fire swelled to 450 acres overnight and remained at 0% containment with evacuations still in place, U.S. Forest Service officials said on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The blaze, first reported about 1 p.m. Monday south of Big Bear Lake, had grown to 330 acres by that evening.

The high temperature forecasted for Tuesday is 86 degrees.
The blaze shut down traffic on Highway 38 in both directions, between Mill Creek and Lakewood roads.
The evacuations put in place were for residents from Glass Road to South Fork River Road, Yucaipa police said just before 6:30 p.m.
