Country singer uses insult flung from Tucker Carlson to fundraise $100K in one day for trans folks

Country music star Marren Morris dared to speak out on behalf of vulnerable and marginalized trans folks, and of course, Fox News host Tucker Carlson decided to try to throw her name into the mud during a recent segment of his show. Carlson had Brittany Aldean on his Fox News show where she promoted her “Barbie-inspired” T-shirts and sweatshirts that say (I kid you not) “Don't Tread On Our Kids.” Sales are allegedly being donated to a charity that combats human trafficking but specific sales numbers haven’t been released yet. 

What does this clothing line have to do with Morris? Well, Aldean decided to use a video of her putting on makeup to make a jab at parents who support trans youth by making a snide remark about how she’s glad her parents didn’t make her transition when she was a “tomboy.” Morris and others rightfully called out the transphobia in her Instagram caption, but Aldean only doubled down. From there, Carlson sunk his teeth into the situation and, of course, took the side of transphobia by decrying Morris as a “lunatic.” 

Morris turned right around and put Carlson’s insults onto a shirt of her own and included the phone number for the TransLife Line. She says they’ve made $100,000 in just one day.
