Researchers have found that machine learning can be used to examine the relationship between bacterial population growth and environmental factors. The research reveals that the different population growth phases are determined by distinct factors, and that a survival strategy of risk diversification prevents the populations from going extinct. This study shows that with further development, machine learning could be used in future applications in the life sciences.
