Explaining the rationale behind the imposition of 20% duty on exports of non-basmati rice and a ban on exports of broken rice, Pandey said the domestic wholesale and retail prices of rice are showing an increasing trend with broken rice going up from Rs 16/Kg on January 1, 2022 to Rs 22/Kg on September 8, 2022.
