Roundup: Tokyo stocks end higher as yen bounces back

TOKYO, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Friday on a solid lead from Wall Street overnight, with the yen bouncing back after a meeting between the government and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) may have nudged investors into changing positions ahead of the weekend.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 149.47 points, or 0.53 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 28,214.75.
