Greece to erect 140 km fence to stop migrants arriving from Turkey

ATHENS, Greece: Greek citizen protection minister Takis Theodorikakos has announced that the government plans to extend a cement and barbed-wire fence along its northern border with Turkey.

During a visit to the Evros region, Theodorikakos said the fence, initially built in 2012 and measuring some 40 kilometers, will be extended by another 140 kilometers.
