VITOR WINS WBO ORIENTAL TITLE IN BOHOL

BOHOL,PHILIPPINES- Vergil Vitor did not disappoint the hometown fans with his electrifying knockout win over Thailand’s Arnon Yupang. After a feeling out opening round, Vitor started catching Yupang in the second. A flurry of hard shots to the head sent Yupang crashing to the canvas.
Referee Danrex Tapdasan counted the Thai out at 2;17 of the second. He was still dazed and was attended to by medical personnel at ringside. Vitor (19-2,12KO's) won the vacant WBO Oriental junior lightweight title and will be going up the rankings. Yupang drops to 9-3,3KO's.
In the main supporting bout, Regie Suganob (12-0,4KO’s) remained unbeaten after beating Indonesian Andika D’Golden Boy (19-1-1,10KO’s) by unanimous decision after ten rounds.
Suganob stalked his foe throughout the fight but Andika was more content in surviving and clowning especially after suffering a knockdown in the fourth. The three judges – Angelito Piquero, Rafael Osumo and Angelito Boaquin all scored 100-89 underscoring the lopsided affair. Suganob is also the IBF Youth light flyweight titleholder.
The card billed as “Kumong Bol-Anon 7” was held at the Dimiao Gymnasium on the eve of their town fiesta. There were eleven more undercard bouts.
Jhunriel Castino won by majority decision against Alan Alberca after 10 rounds, Jake Amparo got a unanimous decision over Ariston Aton.
Shane Gentallan got a technical decision over Jovani Casin in the sixth round of a scheduled eight rounder. The fight was stopped with both boxers suffering cuts due to accidental headbutts. Kim Lindog beat Mark Glen Antaran by unanimous verdict, Christian Balunan won by TKO over Ronald Ewican who decided to stop fighting at the end of the third round, Daniel Nicolas stopped Jerry Pabila in the opening round, Gerwin Asilo beat Ernesto Camiguing by unanimous decision, Pablito Balidio prevailed by majority decision over Justin Digamo, Arnel Tinampay beat Jhun Ryan Quimbo by unanimous decision, Jason Tinampay stopped Dave Barlas in four rounds and Cherwellan Cantel got an opening round TKO victory in his pro debut over Carlos Agustin .
