Spin into Spring Success

Following the success of the new off-street racing and burnout event ‘Winter Heat’, the newest addition into the Perth Motorplex off-street repertoire ‘Spring into Spring’ was an outstanding day of racing in the sunshine!

The day saw the success of many new racers embarking on their first passes down the quarter-mile, as well as continued success for some of the ‘Plex’s more experienced racers. The day finishing off with an hour exhibition of some of WA’s best skidders.

“The introduction of this style of weekend event is crucial to the Perth Motorplex, and the sport of Drag Racing as a whole, as we look to involve the younger car community in what we are doing down here at the Motorplex”, said Paul Trengove, General Manager of Perth Motorplex.

Some notable achievements from the Spin into Spring event include:
– Daniel Natalotto staring down the barrel of his first 8 second pass. Achieving a painfully close 9.009 at 252 kph. Daniel mentioning that he was experiencing wheel spin in sixth gear at the top-end, which was the reason for not “cracking the 8″.

– FUGLY Torana achieving an 8.7 second pass at 253 kph

With the Whoop Ass Wednesday season getting underway, the Perth Motorplex is looking forward to seeing new and returning faces to the track. The Motorplex looking to involve car clubs and groups into the themed nights for the 22/23 season, so keep and eye out for your favourite groups joining in on the fun!
