[Women's Cross Country] Veteran Arias Posts Strong Showing at Vanguard Invitational

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The San Diego Christian College Hawks Cross Country team opened the 2022 season at the Vanguard Invitational on Friday. With new coach Daniel Guerrero's training and team-building process well underway, he chose to send junior, Isabella Arias as the lone SDCC representative. Arias did not disappoint and showed improvement over her previous first run of the season by a full minute.

Coach Guerrero had this to say about his runner, "Isabella came out here today with the confidence of a senior. She toed the line with conviction and courage. The goal today was to test our fitness and see how she is adjusting to the new training I've put together for her. With a season opener over 1 minute faster than last year, I would say Isabella has a bright season ahead of her!"

The coach asked Isabella where she was able to find the strength to open up with such a huge first race and she said, "This race I focused on fixing my eyes on Jesus, knowing that no matter the outcome of the race it's all part of God's plan." - Hebrews 12:1-1
