Green Park mourners hit by Tube problems after power goes down on Victoria Line
Mourners heading to Green Park to pay their respects to the Queen have been hit by severe travel disruption on the Tube network.
The entire Victoria Line was suspended earlier this morning and there are currently severe delays on the Piccadilly Line.
Transport for London (TfL) said the cause of the travel misery was ‘power supply’ problems.
It meant only one of the three lines – the Jubilee – serving the station nearest Buckingham Palace had a good service.
The sudden closure came at the height of Monday rush hour as thousands of mourners descended on central London.
They are joining huge queues just to get a glimpse of the Palace and leave tributes in Green Park.
According to the TfL website, there is now a good service on the Victoria Line.
