Warning as Apple scraps FOUR iPhones – is your favourite model gone?

APPLE has already done away with four popular iPhone models before its latest batch are even released.

Anyone thinking they might be able to get hold of some older handsets slightly cheaper will be disappointed if they try to buy them through the tech giant’s official website.

That’s because every hint of the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 11 have been wiped.

It’s standard practice for Apple to axe older models as new ones are launched.

However, you can still find the doomed handsets on other shopping sites like Amazon.

But once stock is cleared, it’ll be the end for all four.

Of course, this doesn’t mean they’ll stop working, so anyone who owns one need not worry.

The iPhone 11 is the oldest of the bunch, having been released in 2019.

With the iPhone 12 Mini scrapped, this means the iPhone 13 Mini will be the only one from the mini-series left.

Apple decided not to continue with the line in its 14th generation of iPhones.

Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max aren’t much different to the new iPhone 14 Plus.

So it makes sense for Apple to stop selling these, otherwise they could affect sales of their new gear.

The firm says its new handsets are its most powerful yet, boasting upgraded cameras and beefier batteries.

They’re the first iPhones in years to drop the notch at the top of the display, instead featuring a pill-shaped cutout.

With four new models on offer, the iPhone 14 is now the entry-level option.

The iPhone 14 Plus is much the same but with a larger display, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max features all the bells and whistles.

iPhone 14 specs and features

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro come with 6.1-inch displays but the Plus and Pro Max models are upped to 6.7-inches.

There are five colours to choose from, including Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and Red.

Apple has kept last year’s A15 chip to power the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, while the Pro range is upgraded to a mightier new A16 chip.

Apple has also upgraded its cameras, claiming that the iPhone 14 can achieve better results in challenging lighting environments, offering 49 per cent better low-light image capture.

There’s a larger sensor and faster focus, with an f/1.5 aperture.

According to Apple, it’s now possible to capture night-mode photographs much quicker.

And the selfie camera is also improved with a faster aperture, offering a 39 per cent boost to low-light selfies.

There are some new safety features too, like car crash detection that can automatically notify the emergency services if you’re in danger.

Apple has also added a new emergency feature to get help even when you’re off the grid in a remote location.

The new Emergency SOS lets you connect to a satellite, sharing your location with emergency services.

You’ll be alerted when satellite reception is available, and also when emergency responders have received the ping.

Apple also stressed it makes its products to last and has worked on making this iPhone recyclable and environmentally friendly.
