Emmerdale’s return date finally confirmed with hour-long special after soap schedule shake-up
ITV has revealed when Emmerdale will return to schedules after it was cancelled due to the Queen’s death.
The soap was taken off air on Thursday after the Monarch’s passing.
Thursday’s episode aired on Sunday night, but there will be no episode airing tonight.
Instead Friday’s planned Emmerdale double bill will now air on Tuesday night at 8pm instead.
It takes the place of an episode of detective drama Vera that was scheduled to air.
Fans will finally get an update on whether Chas Dingle will be caught having resumed her affair with Al Chapman.

The Woolpack bar manager – who is played by actress Lucy Pargeter in the ITV soap – decided to resume her affair with the scheming businessman in Sunday night’s episode.
Chas was left heartbroken earlier when her mum Faith decided to put Cain in charge of her affairs with a lasting power of attorney.
Faith is suffering from terminal cancer that has spread to her brain.
With her faculties in doubt, she was advised to sign over decisions for her future care nearer the end – and she chose her son.
Explaining to Chas that she did it to spare her the decision after all she went through with late daughter Grace, Faith tried to put her daughter’s mind at ease.
But all it did was send Chas running back to Al who booked a cottage to resume their sordid affair.
However she was left stuck when her husband Paddy revealed he had made it so Chas and daughter Eve could join him at his work’s conference in a luxury cottage with a pool.
She agreed to join him – but there was a shock coming for viewers.
