PRINCE Andrew stood out from his siblings today after he was BANNED from wearing military uniform during the royal procession.

The Duke of York joined his family as they followed Her Majesty’s coffin from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to nearby St Giles’ Cathedral this afternoon.

But Andrew, who wore a morning suit after being stripped of his military patronages last year, was the only one of his siblings not in military dress.

The duke was stripped of his military patronages last year over his links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

It comes as…

And one mourner even broke the sombre silence to heckle the disgraced duke from the crowd.

But despite not wearing a uniform for today’s procession, the duke did display eight medals with his suit.

His medals included a South Atlantic Medal, Silver, Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals and Royal Navy Long Service Medals with bars.

He also wore a Canadian Forces Decoration with bar and a New Zealand Commemoration medal.

A palace source said today: “As a non-working member of the Royal Family, the Duke of York will not wear uniform except as a special mark of respect for Her Majesty the Queen at the final vigil in Westminster Hall.”

King Charles III led the Queen’s children behind their beloved mother’s coffin in the solemn procession this afternoon.

And there was a hush across the usually-bustling city as the King followed his “darling mama’s” coffin from the palace to a black hearse.

The silence was punctuated by a single gun firing from the top of Edinburgh Castle in a salute to Her Majesty and a bagpipe that played as the coffin left Holyroodhouse.

And while the poignant silence was momentarily disrupted when Andrew was heckled, the crowd was largely silent and respectful – with the odd cry of “God save the King” and “God bless the Queen” ringing out.

Charles was flanked by the Queen’s other children, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward for the sombre walk.

Thousands of people packed the streets to pay their respects this afternoon as the Queen’s coffin passed.

King Charles led the procession of royals through to the cathedral at 2.35pm.

The Duke of York, Earl of Wessex, Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence followed closely behind.

Meanwhile Camilla, the Queen Consort, and Sophie Wessex made their way in a car behind.

It was unclear whether Princes William and Harry and wives Kate and Meghan Markle would involved in the procession – but there is speculation they will be part of the cortege.

They will mount a vigil together inside the cathedral at 7.20pm.

The Queen’s coffin was met yesterday at Holyroodhouse by Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex.

Her Majesty’s oak coffin remained in the throne room, which is familiar to her, overnight.

The Queen will lie in state for 24 hours, allowing Scots to come to pay their respects.

Mourners are already lining the streets of Edinburgh to pay their respects to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

It comes after a sea of fans waited for hours on the famous Royal Mile to say a final goodbye to Her Majesty yesterday.
