THE long wait for the Great British Bake Off to return is finally over as it’s back for its thirteenth season.
With a batch of new contestants, one baker hoping to make it all the way through to the final is 30-year-old Sandro.
Who is Great British Bake Off 2022 contestant Sandro?
Sandro is a nanny who lives in London.
He was originally born in Angola but fled the Angolan war with his mum when he was two.
Sandro is very passionate about fitness and is a keen boxer while also having a background in ballet and breakdance.
He first turned to baking as a form of therapy after his father passed away was he was 21.
He now runs virtual baking classes for children with autism.
Sandro says he can be a “bit too ambitious with” his bakes. but he believes that ambition will pay off when he’s in the tent.

He likes to infuse his bakes with flavours from his Angolan heritage, including paprika paired with tangy cheese, and sweet bakes smothered in sticky dulce de leche.
