Stoke City Boss Alex Neil Wary Of Dangerous Hull City
The Potters lost their last fixture away at Reading by a 2-1 scoreline, while the Tigers lost at home to Sheffield United 2-0.
Stoke are still on the lookout for their first win of the 41-year-old Scottish tactician’s tenure and will hope to bring home all three points when calling on Hull.
Neil called the Tigers a dangerous side to play against, despite the fact that a lot of teams in the Championship enjoyed the lion’s share of possession against them.
Also pointing to the fact that while Hull are in the bottom of the division when it comes to ball recoveries, Neil acknowledged that they have a dangerous striker in Oscar Estupinan, who currently leads the division when it comes to goalscoring.
Neil also stated that the Tigers defend well and they had no reason to feel bad about losing at home to Sheffield United, one of the best teams in the Championship in Neil’s estimation.
“I think Hull [City] are a dangerous team.
“They’re quite loose, which makes them a dangerous team and the fact that they’re one of the bottom teams in the league for getting the ball back”, Neil said in his pre-match press conference.
“I think a lot of teams have a lot of possession against them but they’re dangerous, because they’ve got a striker who has scored seven in seven, I think.
“They’ve defended well in most of the games I’ve seen.
“I don’t think it’s any shame on them that they’ve lost to Sheffield United.
“I think they’re one of the best teams in the league for me.”
The Potters currently sit in 20th place in the Championship table while the Tigers are in 12th place.
