California woman’s Jeep found, but she’s still missing
The Jeep of a woman who went missing three months ago in the Sierra Nevada foothills has been found, the sheriff’s office in Mariposa County said.
Wendy Pullins, 57, was in the red Jeep Cherokee when she was last seen, on June 15.
She reportedly planned to drive from her home in Ahwahnee to Mariposa, so she could register the vehicle at the Department of Motor Vehicles. She told her sister she would be staying the night at a friend’s home on Stumpfield Mountain Road, off Highway 49 between the two cities.
Her cellphone location indicated she left that house, but she never made it to the DMV.
The sheriff’s office on Friday said it would not be revealing where the Jeep was found because of the “ongoing investigation.”
“The vehicle is currently being processed by detectives and will be sent to the California Department of Justice Crime Lab for further processing,” the office’s announcement said. “Wendy has not been located.”
