The Chase fans baffled by last minute change to the game show
FANS of The Chase were left baffled tonight after a sudden change to the schedule.
Viewers had tuned into the hugely popular ITV1 game show expecting to see a new episode on their screens.
A new episode of The Chase was replaced with a repeat on Monday[/caption] The episode first aired in February[/caption]But the latest instalment, hosted by Bradley Walsh, was switched to a repeat that had originally aired just seven months ago.
It is thought the change was due to the sad death of Her Majesty The Queen.
Fans admitted they were confused by the decision, especially having only watched the episode for the first time on February 10.
One baffled viewer tweeted: “A welcome change from all the stuff going on but this is a repeat & was on recently.”

Another added: “I remember this episode. Why can’t they just show the new episode like they would have done?! Out of respect it’s better to show an old episode or something?”
A third admitted: “Looking for a bit light relief from all the ‘heavy’ programs on #BBC so sat down to watch #TheChase and they’ve changed the new series for a repeat?!”
Many TV channels have changed their schedules following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.
Multiple shows have been taken off air or delayed for a period of time and replaced with rolling news coverage.

However, soap operas were brought back to the listings for Monday evening and popular shows including Gogglebox and The Masked Dancer returned on the weekend.
ITV has confirmed a huge shake up to its scheduling on Monday September 19 – the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

All programmes apart from Good Morning Britain will be replaced with live and uninterrupted coverage of the State event.
A documentary film chronicling the events of the previous ten days from Her Majesty The Queen’s death to the state funeral will air in the evening.
