Dunelm is selling a heated clothes airer that cost only 6p an hour to run
HEATED clothes airers are a cheap alternative to using a costly tumble dryer to dry your laundry.
The £65 devices costs as little as 6p for an hours running time, making them a nifty and cheaper alternative to a tumble dryer.
The device can be purchased online or collected in your local Dunelm store[/caption]Heated airers are like a normal clothes horse but they plug in at the wall and heat up.
It means your washing can dry more quickly, which is extra useful in the winter.

Ben Gallizzi, energy expert at Uswitch.com, said: “Heated clothes airers are a great alternative to tumble dryers, which are one of the most energy intensive devices in the home.

According to Ben, if you were to use the 230W Dunelm clothes airer for an hour a day it’d only cost 6p.
This means if you were to use the device for an hour every day of the week, it would set you back almost 46p a week under the current price cap, and almost 55p a week under the new energy price guarantee.
Prime Minister Liz Truss confirmed that bills will rise to £2,500 for an average family, up from £1,971, for two years.
They had been due to hit £3,500. However, the new Energy Price Guarantee, which replaces the price cap, only limits the amount suppliers can charge.

It doesn’t limit the amount a household will pay, this is based on their energy usage and size of their property.
Ben said: “Drying a load of washing in a tumble dryer consumes 1.14kWh on average, which would cost £2.26 for a load a day for a week under the current price cap, and £2.71 under the energy price guarantee.”
According to Dunelm’s website, the aluminium and metal airer is durable and sturdy and is the perfect way to dry your clothes this winter.
The device comes with 18 heated bars and the versatile piece folds flat, making it ideal for easy storage.
The airer can hold up to 15kg of washing.
It also comes with an illuminated on and off switch.
