Netherlands come from behind to beat Brazil, earn second win
The Netherlands struggled to field Brazil's short ball early in the game, managed to tie it on a home run by Darnel Collins and went on to win it 5-2 and earn an advantage in Group B's super round race.
Brazil scored two runs making the most of a leadoff walk by Dutch starter Allard Helms. The small ball forced the Dutch defence into an error, and catcher Julian Takeda hit an RBI single to make it 2-0-
The Netherlands tied it in the bottom of the second when right fielder Darnell Collins homered on a full-count offering by Emmanoel Madeira.
The Dutch scored the go-ahead runs against reliever Joao Marostica. Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Jakey Josefa hit a sacrifice play, and Marostica balked with the bases loaded to score Kendrey Maduro.
Brazil stranded a bases-loaded situation in the top of the sixth. Reliever Bryon Rincones got out of the jam as he struck out third baseman Matheus Magalhaes swinging and got pinch hitter Barbosa on a pop fly to first.
