Washington mayor declares emergency over arriving migrants

WASHINGTON D.C.: Washington D.C.'s Democratic mayor, Muriel Bowser, declared a public emergency this week due to migrants arriving by bus, sent by the Republican governors of Texas and Arizona.

Bowser, who issued an order to support arriving migrants by creating a new Office of Migrant Services, and will devote $10 million to fund the office, said the city will seek reimbursement from the federal government.
