Today's aspirational salary levels ? (38 replies)

Slightly unusual question, but SHA seems to represent a fair cross-section of job types, education levels, ages etc with most living somewhere in the Midlands.

I wondered what was considered to be an "aspirational" wage level these days - not necessarily for yourself but for your peers and your lifestyle level

For myself, for example, it's £50,000. What i mean by that is that, although i'm very lucky to earn more than that, £50,000 is where (for my age, job type, experience) the aspirational salary level is that most people aim for, in my opinion

It's difficult to word properly but i suppose i mean "at what wage do you think people should consider themselves happy to have reached"

So £50,000 here (if you are London based then please label it "london")
