After the US Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) report on September 13, showing inflation had remained high, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) took a dive, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 3.9 per cent, suffering one of its worst losses since June 2020.
