I get a huge discount on all Starbucks drinks and food with this clever hack – you can do it too
A STARBUCKS worker has revealed how she gets a huge discount on her favourite drinks with a clever hack – and you can do it too.
Katie told TikTokers she had cracked the coffee giant’s system in a short video that went viral.
She explained that by working just four hours at one of Starbucks’ branches, she has been able to keep her staff discount.
Social media users could hardly believe she could still receive employee perks despite working one “mandatory” shift a month.
The clip showed Katie donning her uniform while wiping down the counters, before heading into the back.
She joked: “When I come in to work my mandatory monthly 4 hour shift (to keep my employee discount) and someone orders a pinkety drinkety.”

A “pinkety drinkety” is a Strawberry Acai, but instead of the usual water added to the drink, the barista will replace it with coconut milk.
The phrase was made popular when influencer James Charles referenced it during a video where he recreated the beverage.
Aside from her frustrations towards the term, Starbucks fans were more interested in Katie’s unorthodox employment status.
One wrote: “I thought minimum you had to work 12 hours a week?”

Another said: “Sorry it’s a mandatory ONE SHIFT A MONTH? I wouldn’t have put in my 2 weeks if I knew I could do that.”
And a third added: “How do I get to be in this one shift a month position?”
The employee then explained: “It’s a Tarbucks! I’m on demand so I only have to work once every 4-6 weeks.”
Katie said her branch is situated inside a Target store, hence its nickname.
She went on to explain she works “on demand”, meaning she picks up extra shifts as and when she is needed.
Other former Starbucks worker applauded her for keeping hold of her staff discount while admitting they had also made the most of it.
One said: “Me working once a week and using my free drink plus food daily only to quit once that ended.”
Another commented: “I used to work at Starbucks and the discount stayed on my app forever.”
Starbucks offer a range of benefits to both part-time and full-time employees, including health coverage and paid time off.
