MAFS UK viewers slam ‘terrible’ new pairing and compare them to Duka and Whitney
MARRIED At First Sight UK fans have slammed the newest couple to join the show, comparing them to recent contestants Whitney and Duka.
For the first time ever, the series has had a shake up just as the brides and grooms get to know each other.
Joining the gang is independent home owner Sophie, 26, self-proclaimed ‘bad ‘b*tch’ Gemma, 30, heavily tattooed Matt, 32, and hunky carpenter Johnathan, 32.
But fans aren’t convinced by Sophie and Jonathan’s pairing, saying it’s a “disaster waiting to happen.”
As it was revealed that experts Charlene Douglas, 41, Paul C Brunson, 47, and Mel Schilling, 50, would be pairing the couple together, fans took to Twitter to air their views.
“Already feeling like Johnathan is too nice for Sophie. Why do the experts mismatch people?” wrote one, followed by a crying emoji.

Another added: “This is just Duka and Whitney 2.0,” and a third added: “So is the experiment throwing total opposites together and seeing how it pans out ! The success rate on this show is very low..so if we are honest , this experiment does not work !”
A fourth agreed, writing: “Sophie and Jonathan is NOT a good pairing, but the experts know best right.”
Johnathan has been a carpenter since leaving school but he’s an explorer at heart.
He doesn’t conform to the norm and very much sees himself as an outlier doing his own thing – but he’s now ready to settle down.
Meanwhile Sophie has a successful career in tech, owns her own home in Manchester but can’t find a man to keep up.
She’s a romantic at heart and needs a man who isn’t intimated by her success and confidence.

Fans think the couple will be Whitney and Duka 2.0 – the couple have had a very bumpy ride on the show, and 31-year-old Whitney accused Duka of joining the show for fame and says he is hoping to meet girls that are “his type” when the dating experiment ends.
She’s seen explaining herself when relationship expert Paul Brunson asks her: “Whitney, what’s the issue?”
The PA from St Albans replies: “There are just a lot of things that have not sat well with me. Duka is like, I don’t want to say calculated but he is thinking everything through.
“I have moments where I wonder whether or not Duka is being himself all of the time.”
She agrees when Paul says she believes Duka is fake.
