QUEEN Consort Camilla has been soldiering on after breaking a toe more than two weeks ago, it has emerged.

She was driven to the service at Westminster Hall with the Princess of Wales on Wednesday.

But sources say the injury was not the reason why she did not join the 30-minute family procession led by King Charles.

However, she was on her feet throughout Wednesday’s service at Westminster Hall before it was opened up for the public prepared to view the Queen lying in state.

An insider said: “Camilla has broken her toe and although it’s healing it is very, very sore.

“It is terrible timing but she is soldiering on and not letting a broken toe get in the way of duty and doing what she needs to do for the King, the family and the country.”

The break happened before the Queen died aged 96 last Thursday.

It is not thought that the injury required hospital treatment.
