I found a $36 tool I like better than my $600 Dyson Airwrap – my hairstyle lasts longer and has less frizz
PRICED at $600, the Dyson Airwrap is an investment in your hair – and not a small one.
While Dyson technology may be worth breaking the bank for, one beauty pro has claimed a $36 tool works better for her and left way less frizz.
The technology behind the Dyson Airwrap is designed to protect and style your hair.
And the majority opinion is that it certainly does the job it promises.
The question is: how does a cheaper tool compare?
YouTuber Sarah Palmyra argued that one tool curled her hair better than the Airwrap ever has, and the curl lasted longer.
Sarah posted a video comparing the $34.99 Conair Hot Rollers Set on one side of her head to the Dyson Airwrap on the other.
“I used to love the Airwrap, but I think I’m over it,” Sarah says at the start of the video.
She begins by dampening her whole head and sectioning it off.
Before using the smoothing attachment on the Dyson Airwrap, she “rough drys her hair” with the regular blow drying attachment.

These two steps take about ten minutes, and then she goes in with the round brush.
“I create these loose curls at the bottom by twisting the round brush over and over again,” she explains.
The last step is to use the curling attachments.
“Although I like the new ones in the newer model, I find that the engines themselves get hotter, and it creates a little bit more frizz,” Sarah says.
Moving on to the other side, Sarah starts by blow drying her hair with a T3 Hair Dryer and wet brush.
Then she grabs a medium-sized roller, moves it halfway up her hair, twists it, and then continues rolling it to her scalp.
She explains that this method leaves more volume and secures the roller better.
For the bottom portion of her hair, she uses smaller rollers. For the top section of her hair, she uses larger rollers.
However, Sarah doesn’t do the twist method for the top section.
“Once the hot roller is cooled, I release them to reveal bouncy, soft, wavy hair,” she explains.
“I find the hot roller side maintains shape better compared to the Dyson, and it has less frizz.”
Some viewers weren’t that shocked to find that Sarah preferred the hot rollers over the Dyson.
“Love those curlers, and the curl holds forever! Curlers always hold better because your hair has time to sit and cool in the shape,” one beauty fan wrote.

Another commented: “The hot rollers definitely work better! I still have 2 sets of hot rollers and don’t even own a curling iron or a flat iron anymore.”
Yet, one Dyson supporter added: “With the Dyson, it really is all about technique.”
