KING Charles looked stunned tonight as a man on roller skates came within seconds of being run over by his state car.

The King was on his way to Westminster Hall tonight to perform a vigil at the Queen’s coffin when the drama unfolded.

The idiot on blades came flying around Parliament Square before being floored by police.

Two cops attempted to stop him before he flew down Great George Street and into the path of the new Monarch.

Eight officers guarding the closed streets ahead of the poignant vigil darted over and bundled him to the ground.

The car carrying King Charles III drove past under armed police escort seconds later.

Crowds cheered as the man was handcuffed and dragged away just after 7.30pm.

He stuck his tongue out as he was led away.

King Charles was joined by the Duke of YorkPrincess Anne and Prince Edward as they stood vigil beside the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall, where Her Majesty lies in state.

The siblings stood guard over their mother as they did in Scotland earlier this week – in a moving tradition known as Vigil of the Princes.

On Saturday evening, Prince Harry will join his seven cousins for a poignant vigil around the Queen’s coffin.

He will be flanked by Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, while William will have Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips either side.

Lady Louise and Viscount Severn will stand at the middle of the coffin during the powerful 15 minute vigil.

Princess Kate and Meghan Markle will not feature in the sombre occasion as spouses are not attending.

It comes as thousands continue to queue for hours today to file past the Queen’s coffin.
