I am struggling to cope after girlfriend dumped me – I feel I’m letting our daughters down
DEAR DEIDRE: I AM really struggling to cope since my girlfriend broke up with me.
I miss her terribly. But I don’t want us to get back together – the relationship was very toxic.
I can’t blame her for everything as there was blame on both sides.
We just didn’t work together.
I am 30 and she is 26. We have two little girls together aged two and four.
I am now crying all the time and feel as though I am letting my daughters down.
I try to keep my feelings to myself but am struggling to be there emotionally for them.
The break-up has made me so depressed, even though I know it is for the best.
I just need help to move on and get over this.

DEIDRE SAYS: Even a relationship you want to be out of is a loss and needs a lot of readjustment.
Be patient. It’s OK to cry. Take things one day at a time, and eventually you’ll get through this tough time.
Talk to your doctor about how you are feeling.
