We have to make sure we keep things as they are at the moment.” That was how Coalition Avenir Québec Leader François Legault responded to a journalist earlier this month when asked about the threats Legault had cavalierly said immigration could represent. The journalist was piggy-backing on a flight of rhetoric the premier had started about Quebec society and its values. Legault later apologized, following the outrage his comments generated.
