Orta gets far too much praise for Bielsa. He was attracted to Leeds because of our history and fan base, and the chance to be the one who took us back up. Orta couldn't have hired him for Boro for example.

He "specialises" in signing overpriced Spanish players on big wages , he did the same at Boro too. A lot of the signings he's praised for, were recommended by others.

Meslier - Abad
Adams - Marsch
Sinisterra - Ruiz
Aaronson - 49ers

It's most likely Gaby Ruiz also spotted Kvaratskhelia and Gvardiol.

Got lucky with Raphinha as Rennes needed the money desperately. Orta wanted Cuisance for £20m instead.

Even the u23 recruitment is vastly overrated too. Only Struijk has broken through, and that's because of injuries. He'll be benched when Cooper and Firpo are fit. We've replaced on our homegrown development for hoarding other clubs' youth and then let them go at a huge loss.

Orta has made 84 signings and only 3 made a profit, Raphinha, Davis and Ekuban. Cellino and Salerno better that.

Jury's out I'm afraid, no spin or excuses can defend him.
