Eastwood Tops Damp FP2 In Racing Team Turkey Oreca

The second Free Practice session of the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps weekend was declared wet after rain had fallen on the track, with lap times reflecting the change in track conditions from yesterdays FP1.

However, a flurry of faster times as the track dried towards the end of the session saw a number of cars vying for the top spot in all three classes.
With less than a minute to the chequered flag the #34 Racing Team Turkey Oreca went to the top of the time sheets as Charlie Eastwood posted a 2:07.756 lap, 0.151 ahead of the #47 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca of Alexander Peroni.

The #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca was third quickest on 2:08.636 with the #65 Panis Racing Oreca just 0.037s slower in 4th.

The #17 Cool Racing Ligier of Malthe Jakobsen headed the LMP3 class, the Dane setting a benchmark of 2:16.669, which was 1.7 seconds better than the next car, the #3 United Autosports Ligier.

The #93 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR-19 was the quickest of the LMGTE runners after Zach Robichon posted a 2:20.507 lap in the drying conditions. The Canadian was over 1.5 seconds faster than the second placed LMGTE car, the #69 Oman Racing with TF Sport Aston Martin on 2:22.057, which was just 0.051s ahead of the #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari at the end of the 90-minute session.
