Las Gallinas road, lot
closed for pipe work
An access road and parking lot on Smith Ranch Road adjacent to the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District reclamation area will be closed through Friday.
The road and parking lot is closed from 6 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. daily to allow for the installation of a new 10” potable water line.
The work is part of the district’s secondary treatment plant upgrade and recycled water expansion project. Updates on the project can be found at lgvsd.org.
Parks staff to host
volunteer picnic
Marin County Parks will host a volunteer recognition picnic at McNears Beach Park on Oct. 8.
Volunteers and their families are invited to enjoy free food and drink from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Meet at the southshore picnic area at the park at 201 Cantera Way. Park fees will be waived.

open board seats
The Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for open seats on special district boards.
Seats are open on the boards of the Marin City Community Services District; Tomales Village Community Services District; Alto Sanitary District and Strawberry Recreation District.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 21.

The Marin Coalition will host an election overview with commentary on Oct. 4.
Candidate races and ballot measures featured in the Nov. 8 contest will be previewed by IJ political columnist Dick Spotswood and frequent political commentator Greg Brockbank.
