Injured Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of T20 World Cup 2022: BCCI Sources To PTI
New Delhi: India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled to be played in Australia in October due to an injury, according to BCCI sources – as reported by News Agency PTI. Bumrah, who was part of the India squad for the series against South Africa, missed the first T20I match on Wednesday due to back pain and was being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team.
According to sources close to PTI, Bumrah will be out of action for four to six months. This is a big blow to India’s chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup and with Ravindra Jadeja already out of the tournament for the Rohit-Sharma-led side, India will now have to reassess their plan for the big tournament.

The only good news in all this will be the fact that India pacer Mohammed Shami, who was initially not picked in the T20 squad for the World Cup and was kept as a stand by, has returned a Covid-19 negative report after testing positive and although his chances of participating in the ongoing T20I series against South Africa is next to impossible, he would eyeing a spot in the T20 World Cup in place of Bumrah.
