I’ve been offered two great jobs but I don’t know which to take

DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE been offered two amazing jobs, and I don’t know which one to take.

I’m 29 and have been in my role as a marketing manager for three years but I realised in June that it was time to find something new.

My work isn’t challenging or exciting any more and I spend Sunday dreading having to go back to the office, so I started applying for new roles.

Within two weeks, I had two great offers.

One is for a small start-up, the other is for a big American company with lots of opportunities for progression and a really good pay rise.

I’d have to relocate but they’re willing to help with the costs.

I’ve spoken to my parents about how I feel, but they’ve both given me conflicting answers.

My gut is saying take the latter but I’m also terrified about uprooting my entire life.

DEIDRE SAYS: What a lovely predicament.

It’s always daunting, deciding to walk away from what you know to try something new. But, it’s also really exciting.

I can’t tell you what to do but it does sound like you’ve already made a decision.

In your letter, you only really spoke about the latter and focused largely on the benefits.

To help you decide, write a list of all the pros and cons. Emptying your head and having it all laid out in front of you should help.
