10 Samples you might recognise from Bedouin’s Saga at Pacha, Ibiza

BEDOUIN is the music production and DJ partnership of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe.

Together they share a broad sonic vision that pulls from their diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing and worldly travels.

Their sophisticated productions are featured on some of the world’s best labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, All Day I Dream, and recently their own imprint Human By Default.

This summer they have been busy with their 20-week Saga residency at Pacha in Ibiza which continues next Wednesday. With guest appearances from the likes of Deep Dish, Damian Lazarus, Audiofly and Henrik Schwarz so far, the duo will be welcoming  the likes of Bob Moses, Black Coffee, DJ Koze and Luciano over the coming weeks.

Azealia Banks featuring Lazy Jay – 212

This track is Azealia’s debut single and over 10 years later, it doesn’t get old. The base music on this song is actually an even older track called “Float My Boat” by the Belgian DJ Jef Martens and his brother Toon, who together are Lazy Jay. We love that this track was originally a house track that Azealia masterfully added to without getting rid of the magic in the original. When you hear this track at a Bedouin set, it’s our unreleased edit that we have had for some time now.

Corona – Rhythm of The Night

We love this mix of R&B and electronic music. When this song came out in the 90s, it was an instant hit and was on the top of the charts for weeks. This is a timeless classic that always gets the dancefloor moving and singing.

Beyoncé – PURE/HONEY

Beyoncé’s new album is something we have on repeat right now and when we heard this track, we knew it would make it into our sets. When you hear this track, it’s actually an unreleased edit we made – not something we’re remixing live. Beyoncé worked on this album with some of the most influential artists in the electronic scene such as Honey Dijon, and Green Velvet and we just love this whole project.

Tim Deluxe – It Just Won’t Do

A timeless classic throwback that works every time…when played at the right moment.

Madison Avenue – Don’t Call Me Baby

This is another one of those tracks that is technically pop, but has such a heavy dance and disco sound in it. It feels like this song just doesn’t age!

Rosalía – QUE NO SALGA LA LUNA

Rosalía is one of the best young talents of this age and being from Spain, mixing her tracks in at Pacha just makes sense. Her ability to mix Latin, pop, urban…it’s just like what we do throughout a set. Mixing genres and creating new sound experiences. The title of this track translated in English is “Don’t Let The Moon Rise” which is almost ironic for us to play because by the time our sets are finished, the moon has set and the sun is rising. We hope we can one day release our edit of this track officially…

Locomia – Locomia

This is an Ibiza classic that is a little less upfront compared to the rest on this list. We love to use this one for closing out the dance floor.

Snap! – Rhythm Is A Dancer

This is a great track for us to close the night out with. People know the words and sing along and dance their last bit of energy out after taking the journey with us.

Nancy Sinatra – Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)

Another super popular track to sample in the electronic world, another timeless classic. Originally sung by Cher, this cover version of the song is iconic and it’s own masterpiece. It was featured in the opening credits of the Tarentino film Kill Bill Volume 1 nearly 40 years after it was originally released which is a testament to the power it holds.

Soul II Soul – Back To Life (However Do You Want Me)

The vocals and lyrics in this track are just so dreamy and are a perfect way to wrap up the night…time to leave the dance floor and go back to life or your version of reality.
