Warm up Your Heart

0

As we look forward to our first “Know Your Numbers” event on Saturday at our fixture against Raith Rovers, Dom Thomas proudly shows the warmup t-shirt for the match which was designed by Scarlett Dougan.

The Spiders have invited young Scarlett Dougan, who was born with a rare heart condition, to the game as guest of honour and along with her brothers and sisters, she will lead out the teams.

Scarlett, who is 10 years old, was born with a complex congenital heart condition, hypoplastic right heart syndrome. Most babies with this condition are diagnosed before birth but Scarlett’s condition wasn’t discovered until she was more than four months old. She needed to have urgent, major surgery, and has since had a number of other operations. There is currently no cure for Scarlett’s condition and she may require a heart transplant when she is older.

In association with leading pharmacy chain and club partners M&d Green and the British Heart Foundation. The “Know Your Numbers” event aims to encourage fans to get their blood pressure checked and be aware of the importance of this.

Stations around the stadium will be set up pre match by trained M&D Green staff to allow fans to be checked and we encourage as many fans attending to take part.
