Another Loss In Boston
The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Boston Red Sox by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night. Each team collected seven hits in the game with Boston generating more production with theirs; Boston had five extra-base hits to the Orioles two.
Ryan McKenna doubled and walked in a 2 for 2 night while Robinson Chirinos went 1 for 3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. In contrast, Boston hit 2 homeruns and 2 doubles.
The Orioles only had runners in scoring position twice and failed to knock them in.
Starter and losing pitcher, Dean Kremer (8-6), allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 5.0 innings. He surrendered both Red Sox homeruns, walked 4 and struck out 2. Kremer did pick off a runner at first base in the second inning, however.
Keegan Akin had a good relief appearance, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2 in 3.0 innings of work.
2022 Record: 80-75, 4.5 GB in the Wild Card race. Their elimination number (combination of Seattle wins and O’s losses) is 4.
