Diamondbacks place Ketel Marte on injured list

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed second baseman Ketel Marte on the injured list on Friday, effectively ending his season with six games remaining.

Arizona recalled infielder Buddy Kennedy from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. The team did not disclose why Marte landed on the IL.

Marte, 28, played in 137 games in his eighth season in the big leagues, his sixth with Arizona. He hit .240 with a .321 on-base percentage
