I’m plus size & was told my skirt was ‘inappropriate’ for work – wearing tight clothes doesn’t make me less professional
A PLUS-SIZE woman has hit back at trolls who said her ruched skirt was “inappropriate” to wear to work.
Fashion blogger Gabbi regularly shares videos of herself getting ready for her job on her TikTok page, and recently posted a clip in which she wore an orange skirt with a cream top.
The skirt in question was a midi length orange one with ruching at the front and back and a small slit up the front, and prompted one person to comment: “Skirt not appropriate for work.”
Responding to the criticism, Gabbi shared another video as she wrote: “So is it my belly or is it my butt that makes this skirt inappropriate?
“Because I don’t get it.”
She added in the caption for her video: “Wearing skin tight clothes doesn’t make me less professional.”

However, not everyone was convinced by Gabbi’s defence of her eye-catching ensemble.
“You look fantastic in it, but it does seem a little work inappropriate,” one person commented.
“It’s perfect for a date night though!”
“Guess it just depends where you work,” another added.

And someone else commented: “It’s see through. It’s tight. It’s not professional whatsoever.
“With that being said, it’s cute. Just not work appropriate at all.”
While another agreed, writing: “You wouldn’t get it if you have to ask.
“Of course it’s not appropriate for work.
“Everything about it is wrong for work.”
