Two men charged after Prince Andrew heckler ‘slammed to the ground’ during Queen’s coffin procession in Edinburgh
TWO men have been charged after a protester was allegedly slammed to the ground for abusing Prince Andrew as he walked behind the Queen’s coffin.
Police said the suspects, both 34, are facing court over an alleged assault on the heckler, 22, on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.

He is accused of calling the disgraced Royal “a sick old man” just minutes after the cortege left the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
All of the Queen’s children, including King Charles, were walking behind her coffin at the time of the flashpoint on September 12.
The protester was charged with a breach of the peace in relation to his behaviour after officers stepped in.
But cop sources said the full circumstances of the rammy had since been considered, including the moment others appeared put their hands on him.
A force spokeswoman said: “Two men, both 34, have been arrested and charged in connection with assault following an incident on the Royal Mile on September 12.
“A report will be sent for the consideration of the fiscal.”
Police Scotland has defended its handling of anti-monarchy protests at events following the death of the Queen and the ascension of King Charles.
