[Women's Soccer] Rio Grande women grab first win

    MIDWAY, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande women's soccer team snapped their season-opening six-game losing streak with ties in each of their last two outings.
    On Saturday, the RedStorm ended their eight-game winless slide.
    Rio got goals in each half and then survived a late score by host Midway University for a 2-1 win over the Eagles, Saturday afternoon, in River States Conference play at Midway Soccer Field.
    The RedStorm improved to 1-6-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the RSC, stopping their longest winless streak since starting the 2019 campaign at 0-8.
    Midway dropped to 3-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league play as a result of the loss.
